Back to: How to Do Keyword Research for SEO Using Free Tools – A beginner’s guide
Baidu is one of the most underrated search engines as it is used only in China. In addition, the default language of this search engine is Chinese. Hence I have rarely seen any blogger register his/her site on Baidu Webmasters.
However as I often say, we bloggers should never leave any opportunity for driving traffic to our sites. China is world’s most populated country and with the rise in technology, English is being used in China.
If we understand what Chinese people exactly search for in Baidu, we can get at least 1000 daily hits from this search engine and using 30 days data, we can easily get thousands of keywords which we can use to produce more content.
So the question arises, how do we do keyword research on Baidu? Well, I have registered my sites on ziyuan.baidu.com since 2018 and I’m getting around 20-30 daily hits which means around 1k monthly hits. The baidu traffic is very engaging as. compared to Google. On an average, a user from Baidu visits at least 3-4 pages. So, I get around 3000 views just from Baidu which is not bad!
Here are some stats from my Baidu Webmasters Account.
Like we did in Yandex Webmasters, the same strategy can be followed for Baidu Keyword Research as well. Just export all the keywords from your Baidu Webmasters dashboard (use maximum date range for more keywords), arrange them into groups and use them to create content like blog posts, courses and forum topics.
In addition, you can use baidu’s search autocomplete feature for getting relevant keywords. You can use these keywords as subheadings of your content and also as forum topics
Note that when you make a strategy for your website, you must do keyword research on all major search engines (in addition to Google) like
- Bing
- Yahoo
- Yandex
- Baidu
- DuckDuckGo
- Ecosia
- OceanHero.Today
If our site ranks for competitive keywords on these sites, we will surely get traffic and we can scale it easily because of increasing DA & PA.
