If I change the URLs, does it affect the SEO negatively? I had a website with weird URLs, so I had to fix them all. But the website ranking and traffic are seemingly going down pretty fast. Does it have anything to do with changing the URLs? If yes, what should I do? Is it going to come back up?

Make proper 301 redirections also find that page where it is interlinked with inner pages and fix the URL there too, It will help in caching and recovering fast. Also, build some quality links for new URL. Fix that URL in sitemap as well.
